The Daisy has been praised by poets around the world and proves that simple can be beautiful. This lovely flower symbolizes purity, innocence, beauty and simplicity. It is often used while confessing one’s undying love. Daisies are believed to be around for more than 4,000 years and there exists more than 12,000 species. Each species differ in color, size and shape. The Shasta and the African Daisy are amongst the most popular of all the Daisy species. The Shasta Daisy has white petals with a bright yellow center, while the African Daisy can have orange or even beautiful purple pedals with a dark blue or purple center. Given the name, “Days Eye”, the Daisy closes its petals at sunset and re-opens its petals at dawn.
The Tulip is the national flower of Turkey. Over 100 different types of Tulips exist. The cup-shaped flower has three petals and three sepals. Many people confuse the sepals with the petals because they look nearly identical but they are not. The average height of a Tulip is 10 – 70 centimeters long and generally have up to 6 leaves. Tulips can be found in red, yellow, orange, pink, white and more. The red Tulips symbolize true love. According to legend, Tulips sprang up from the drops of blood shed by a prince who was heart-broken when he was told that his true love had been killed, this making the Red Tulip a symbol of perfect love. Yellow Tulips symbolize happiness and happy thoughts while white Tulips symbolize forgiveness.
